Catherine Angiel is a self taught artist and musician, Bronx born and Queens raised. Winning dozens of awards in both fields since childhood, her most recent accolade was in 2009 when she won the Innovation Award from the Jewelers Association. Her vision: to create unique and innovative jewelry with a sharp cutting edge. Catherine hit the workforce at a very young age, taking any position the jewelry industry had to offer; from selling jewelry to polishing. Paying her dues and scrounging for work, Catherine didn’t care. Her goal: to start her own business in the industry she fell so passionately in love with. Her tenacity eventually landed her a job with a jeweler who was willing to share his knowledge and strongly believed in her talent. It was here she began to truly learn all the in’s and out’s and details to success. She soon began to design her own line of jewelry; then in silver. She sold her designs anywhere she could; the park, the bus, to office secretaries, and even one “special” booking agent named, Courteney Cox.
Catherine’s designs were completely unlike the masses, thus it took time for the industry to truly appreciate and embrace her creations.
